Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 8, 2026

ChinaFluent is an educational website about doing business in China. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have when you visit chinafluent.com or subscribe to our emails.

1. Who we are

ChinaFluent operates this website and our email newsletter and free-resource program. For questions about this policy or your information, contact us at hello@chinafluent.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you provide: Your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, request free resources, or sign up for course news. If you contact us by email, we also receive the information in your message.
  • Subscription information: Our email provider may record when you subscribe, confirm your email, unsubscribe, and interact with emails or links, depending on the provider settings.
  • Basic technical information: Our website hosting and related services may process information such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and access times to deliver and protect the site.

Our current website signup forms do not ask for payment-card details.

3. How we use your information

We use this information to provide the free resources you request, manage and confirm email subscriptions, send our monthly ChinaFluent newsletter, announce new free guides and checklists, share occasional relevant course updates, respond to your messages, and keep our website secure and working properly.

We do not sell or rent our subscriber list or use it for third-party targeted advertising.

4. What happens when you subscribe

All ChinaFluent signup forms on this website lead to the same email subscription. After confirming your email address, you can choose which of our currently available free resources to download. You can also expect our monthly newsletter, announcements when new free resources are released, and occasional relevant course updates. You do not need to sign up separately on each page.

You can stop marketing emails at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link in an email, or by contacting hello@chinafluent.com.

5. Service providers and external links

We use Kit to collect and manage email subscriptions and send emails, and Cloudflare to host and deliver our website. We also use Google Fonts to display website typography. These providers may process information necessary to provide their services.

Our website may link to independent services, such as LinkedIn or course platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We do not currently use advertising pixels or behavioral-advertising tracking scripts in our website code. Our hosting and font providers may receive technical request information when the site loads. Email messages may include links or measurement features used by our email provider, depending on our account settings. If our use of tracking or analytics tools changes, we will update this policy and provide any controls required by applicable law.

7. Data retention and international processing

We generally keep subscription details while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe or request deletion, we remove information when it is no longer needed, while retaining limited records where necessary to honor opt-outs, demonstrate consent, resolve issues, or meet legal obligations. Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Where applicable, we rely on your consent for subscription emails, our legitimate interests for website operation and security, and other grounds permitted by law for legal or administrative requirements.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent for marketing emails, by writing to hello@chinafluent.com. Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may also have rights to data portability, to object to or restrict processing, or to raise a complaint with a privacy regulator. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

9. Security and children

We use reputable service providers and reasonable measures to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. ChinaFluent is intended for business professionals and is not directed to children under 16.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy if our services or data practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. You can contact us at hello@chinafluent.com with any questions.
